Course Title: HI 344/744
Course Instructor: Dr. Ray Borah
Course Description: This course focuses on a study of the History of the Baptists in England and America. Course Goals: The student will be able to:
1. Observe an overview of the Anabaptists from the first century to the present. 2. Appreciate the differences between the Anabaptists, and the Papists and Protestants. 3. Become familiar with some of the saints of our Anabaptist heritage. 4. Analyze Anabaptist theology. 5. Realize the importance of NT polity and practice.
Course Requirements: 1. Read the textbook as assigned. 2. Take meticulous notes on lectures for quizzes and tests. 3. Undergraduate Writing Requirements: a. Using your textbook as a guide, write a 4-5 page D/S summary of the Baptist movement from the 1st through the 16th century b. One page S/S paper on the practicality of Baptist History
Course Grading: Equal weight is given to all quizzes, tests, papers, and reading.
